Baruj Salinas

Baruj Salinas was born in Havana, Cuba. He received his degree in architechture from Kent State University in Ohio. After his exile from Cuba in 1959, he moved first to San Antonio, Texas, and then to Miami., Florida. In 1974 he moved to Barcelona, Spain, where he lived until 1992. In Barcelona he had contact with artists such as Joan Miró and Antoni Tápies. Since 1992 he has lived in Miami, and in 1995 he took up an art teacher position at Miami Dade College, Interamerican Campus. Since then, he divides his time between teaching and his painting studio. His work can be seen in several important museums and collections in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
